Yamonte Cooper, EdD, LPCC, NCC, CST, is a Certified EFT Therapist
I had the privilege of working with Yamonte in Core Skills in 2016 and 2017. He immediately took to the EFT model, which is a great fit for his gentle soul and his warm, tender, attuned and compassionate presence.
One of his EFT supervisors, Jean Shirkoff, talked about Yamonte in the following way: “He has a deep understanding of the importance of attachment, and he has experience and comfort working with diverse populations which can be challenging as a person learns a complex model of therapy because there are so many details to keep track of. This never seemed to phase Yamonte and he honed the interventions and worked diligently on learning the steps and stages of EFT. He has a lovely ability to calmly and slowly tune into a client’s experience and reflect it back while understanding the deeper meaning. His ability to gain his clients confidence and use enactments early in his work helps him as he delves deeper into the EFT process. Yamonte’s clients engage with him early in their treatment and they clearly feel his care for them.”
Gail Palmer, in her response to his application said “”I see you doing the steps and moves of EFT and your couple are incredibly open and accessible…”.
Yamonte is an Associate Professor of Counseling at El Camino College, Adjunct Instructor of Human Sexuality at California Institute of Integral Studies, Adjunct Instructor of Clinical Psychology at Antioch University as well as being a skilled clinician who is trained in trauma treatment and sex therapy as well as EFT. His practice is in West Los Angeles.
Please join me in congratulating and celebrating Yamonte on achieving this significant milestone by back channeling him at firstname.lastname@example.org.
