Four Day Externship
The externship in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) is the introductory four-day training in EFT and a pre-requisite for Master classes and advanced Core Skills training in EFT. It includes an overview of all aspects of the model including the steps and stages of the model, interventions, adult attachment theory, and application of EFT with couples. In our externships, we strive to create an intimate experience with personal videos of our in-session work, leader role-plays, and small group role-plays in which trained EFT therapists get involved with each group. Our externships follow this format: “Hearing (didactic), Seeing (video/leader role plays), and Doing (small group exercises)”. We emphasize small group exercises throughout the week. Each small group will have an experienced helper in their group to facilitate the learning process. (Click here to watch a short video about EFT externships from Dr. Sue Johnson.)
28 CEs available for Psychologists, LMFTs, LMHCs, LPCs, and LCSWs.
Officially offered in conjunction with Dr. Susan Johnson and the International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy, Ottawa, Canada. This externship fulfills the full externship requirement for certification in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).
